Cover Letter – Retail Sales District Manager Returning

Mr. John Smith
Department Manager
ABC Company
1234 E. Main Street
Any Town, US 55555

Dear Mr. Smith:

I am very interested in joining an organization such as (name the organization). During my online research, I was very excited to learn about the current opening for a (specify position), and feel my qualifications and your requirements are a good match. For your review, I have attached my resume for your consideration.
I am going full circle — using my fifteen years of customer service experience and ten years of more recent experience running my own importing and exporting business. I love my business, but really miss working in a retail environment. Don’t laugh, but I have found myself shopping more than I should just to be in the environment! I think it is time to finally return to where I belong — managing a sales district!

I am someone who goes above and beyond what is expected — and customers respond to my effort to accommodate them by making purchases.
There are so many things that go on simultaneously. For this reason, my attention to detail is constantly being used and is behind every aspect of managing several stores throughout a busy district.

You will find me to be dedicated to customer satisfaction and completely loyal. Call me old fashioned, but that’s what people expect even in this super highway society. There’s just something about good old fashioned customer service that will never be obsolete or considered outdated.

On the business side, I am a strong manager. I understand what is needed to build an enthusiastic and motivated team while maintaining clear, effective communication and a high degree of productivity.

This extends to ensuring all aspects of general accounting, budget control and replenishments are taken care of — right down to sales tracking and reporting and weekly payroll management.

You name it, I’ve done it. Now I want to do it again for your organization!

If you feel there is a mutual interest, I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you to learn more about your company, the requirements of the position, and how my qualifications would be a good fit.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration of my candidacy. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
